The Best Collaboration Tools

the best collaboration tools special research report Photo by cache.gawker.com
Nonprofit organizations do better when their board members and staff collaborate effectively. One of the board's biggest responsibilities is strategic planning. In most nonprofits, creating the annual strategic plan is a very time-consuming (and painful) process. It starts with a face-to-face meeting, then dozens of emails with document drafts, revisions and comments start flying around. Phone calls and meetings multiply unheeded. An unlucky soul who has volunteered to put everything together would spend hours comparing pages and sentences between different versions. As you can imagine, this whole process could take up months!

The Collaboration Toolkit - Etherpad, Skype, Dropbox ...
Found a great manifesto expressing how I feel towards the internet. The internet is made of people. People matter. This includes you. Stop trying to sell everything about yourself to everyone. Don’t just hammer away and repeat and talk at people—talk TO people. It’s organic. Make stuff for the internet that matters to you, even if it seems stupid. Do it because it’s good and feels important. Put up more cat pictures. Make more songs. Show your doodles. Give things away and take things that are free. Look at what other people are doing, not to compete, imitate, or compare . . . but... With the emergence of new social media the ... market research, surveys and trends

Yammer : Press
I started using Yammer, a free Twitter-like messaging system for businesses, last year. I think of it as my social media company's private Twitter feed. When I post a comment on the feed, colleagues can comment on it and attach files. I often need to go back and access a certain point in a conversation, which is much easier to do on Yammer than in a long e-mail chain. We use Yammer to archive information as well. When we're getting ready for a presentation, we assign each client a hash tag, just as you would on Twitter. As we collect documents related to a client, we attach them to comments containing the appropriate ... industry trends, business articles and survey research

Scenarios for Evaluation of Collaboration Tools
Having defined a framework for collaborative systems and generic task types, we can re-examine what a scenario is, and how we can use it for evaluating collaborative systems. A scenario is an instantiation of a generic task type, or a series of generic tasks linked by transitions. It specifies the characteristics of the group that should carry it out, and the social protocols which should be in place. It describes what the users should (try to) do at the requirements level, but not how they should do it at any of the lower levels of the framework. Scripts dictate how the users will carry out their tasks, at any of the three ... technology research, surveys study and trend statistics

Google Apps for very small business - Google Apps Solution ...
For very small business, I mean 3 or 4 users companyes, Google Apps it's not so cheap. In fact in this kind of business the only thing really needed is Gmail. Pay 50$ for each user it's not a low price for an email service. Ok, I can use the Standard version, but as a reseller I need more warranties. If tomorrow Google vhanges the terms of the Standard service, I don't want problems with my clients. What do you think about it? Regards. We have setup the Premier Edition for many 1-5 user companies.  $50-$250/year really isn't a lot to pay for such an important business communication tool.  I would ...
Scripting and domain name question - Google Sites Help
